Story:
Clare DeTamble (nee Abshire) is the wife of Henry, and the eponymous heroine. Her husband is a time traveler ~ and frequently jumps back into time periods from his own and Clare's life. Consequently, Clare firsts meets Henry when she is a small child, and he is a man in his thirties. Throughout her childhood and subsequent teenage years, the elder Henry jumps back into her life at pre-fixed moments, and she falls in love with him; knowing that he will be her future husband. When she is twenty years old, Clare finally meets 'her time' Henry, who is twenty-eight and has no idea who she is. Slowly, she begins to tell him of her past and his future, and before long they are married. Clare now has to survive the reality of having a time traveler for a husband; how it feels when he leaves, and what it means for any children they may have
